Unemployment in the United Kingdom and Europe was extremely high.This led to lots of people leaving the UK and Europe in prosuit of work.People whould go on the voyage to Australia in hope to start there life over again.The voyage was a long and hard due to the inhumanity of the ships conditions the death rate for children was higher than grown men and women.Luckily for some people the government would pay for the ticket(s) to Australia. The man and woman who were lucky enough were usually Farmers,Labourers,Doctors and Domestic servants.Afghan cameleers arrived in Australian not long after the first settlement there experience was finding new trading routes throughout the outback.Japanese divers contributed to the pearling industry by there diving skills. In the 1850s (the time of the gold rushes)the Chinese imagrated to Australian to mine for gold. Once the gold rush was over the Chinese started there own business as market gardening,laundrymen and restaurants.
